My name is Matt Didisheim, and I stutter. I’ve started Stutter Collective to collect the life stories of people who stutter. Stigma, lack of representation, and persistent stereotypes can make the existence of stuttering feel solitary and shameful, like we don’t belong or that we should be able to fix it. My goal with this project is to share video interviews as short documentaries. I want to connect our community and enlighten the general population, bridging the gap in understanding to the realization that stuttering is a functional difference and that speech fluency exists on a spectrum. Maybe I can help make stuttering a little more understood and embraced in this world.

I want to hear your story. If you would like to share your story, please contact me at matthewdidisheim@gmail.com.
